@Eathan White,

I certainly can't take credit for these principles, but I can take responsibility for living them in my life and sharing them with others. None of these techniques are "quick fix", they take time and effort to implement. Which is part of why they're so important

There's no way I could have said it better. I've been preaching these basic principles all the time. I'm not sure if anyone is listening. I think you laying out this list is a great start.

If people followed just these five basic ideas, the world would be a much happier and peaceful place.

I think the most challenging aspect of personal growth is the fundamental idea behind them: that we are flawed.

The thing is, none of us have anything "wrong" with us. Our basic self... the person we were born into this world as is perfect. The only flaw is we've *added* lots of stuff on top of that perfection to cover it over... to make us not realize that we're perfect underneath all of the conditioning we've adopted from others.

In that light, I would probably add a 6th premise along the lines of "Acceptance" or "You're Okay." So often people reject themselves or parts of themselves, and that just makes it even harder for them to progress down the path of personal development.

Hi, found your blog via Twitter via the authority blogger forums, and I have to say, this post really put a smile on my face, because I absolutely adore the word fabulous. I, too, have enjoyed giving nontraditional replies to the 'how are you' question, and your response fits my personality to a T.

The Buddhist definition of Nirvana is about freeing oneself from the cycle of life and death. Relaxation is a nice way to put it.

As a Hindu myself, loved this post! :) Will come back for more.

Not to me!

I love having a steadily-growing visual reminder of how far I have come with my blogging. This worksheet has nothing to do with my visitors, and if I hadn't shared it here, none of them would know it exists...

I am a firm believer in Peter Druckers saying...
What gets measured gets managed.
This is my favorite way of measuring how frequently I am posting.
